Out of the four questions the jury of the Oracle vs Google trial was asked to address, one still has not been decided on. The jury has said that an “impasse has been reached.” The question contains two parts.
The first part has been answered; the jury believes Google has infringed with its use of 37 Java APIs. However it’s the second part of the question that’s causing the impasse. They cannot decide whether Google’s use was fair use. Now the judge will have to deal with this issue, as his jury is deadlocked.
