Google’s latest update to Android, known as Ice Cream Sandwich, was released all the way back in December. Many months later, and we are now just entering May. That means it’s time for the latest distribution charts. How is Ice Cream Sandwich looking? It’s made a huge improvement over last month. It is now sitting at a whooping 5% of all Android devices, up from last months less than 3%. Pathetic, we know, but that’s the way the Android game is currently being played.
As far as other versions of Android go, 2.3 Gingerbread is still in the lead with 64%, followed by 2.2 Froyo at 20.9%. 2.1 Eclair is still beating Android 4.0, with 5.5%. 3.0 Honeycomb is standing at about 3.3%, with 1.5 Cupcake and 1.6 Donut slowly dying out with a total of 1% of the market. Always great to see Androids latest numbers, but it’s still sad that so little is made up by the latest version of Android.
