The IdeaTab S2109 is hitting the US now, but I’m not sure if anyone should even be interested. It packs a 9.7″ 1024×768 4:3 IPS panel, a 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, micro-HDMI, four speakers, a 1.3 pound wight, and an 8.9mm thick profile. Sounds awfully similar to an iPad to me. But the tablet comes at a not-so-budget price; it’s $349. For $249, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 offers a 1024×600 widescreen display at a much higher density, the same processor, and very similar other features. The screen kills it for me, really.
If you’re still interested (possibly because of the 4 speakers? Though I don’t see how double the amount of tiny speakers will make the sound any better), Lenovo will launch this tablet in early June, and we’ll be providing the news when it does.
