LG’s New Google TV’s Launching In A Few Weeks

Back at CES 2012, LG showed off two of their Google TV’s. They had both a 47″ and a 55″ model, and both had 3D support. But now they’re officially launching May 21st. Prices are set to be $1,699 for the 47″ and $2,299 for the 55″. Of course, Amazon sells the 47″ for $100 cheaper and the 55″ for $200 cheaper.

Is Google TV worth the price premium? A good Samsung 55″ TV is $1,399 right now, while their Smart offerings go for $1,999. Will you be buying one for the Google integration? Or does Google TV not matter to you? We’d like to know! Comment and tell us what you think of Google TV.

I think Google TV is well worth the premium for the simple fact that Google is a such reliable company. I use Google services for absolutely everything that I can possibly get away with using them for and I very rarely have problems. When I do, I can Google the fix and have everything back to normal in a matter of minutes. I always feel like whatever information I give them is safe from loss. If I weren't totally broke, I would definitely have one of these TV's as soon as they launch.

So, I have owned a Samsung smart tv (55" 6500) and the Apps store was absolute rubbish. I liked the UI, but everything else just didn't feel like it had been developed. I now own an LG (again 55" led with wand etc) The user UI isn't quite as polished as the Samsung but again the Apps store is a joke and not even worth being there. Personally, im sooo excited to see hopefully Google making its way as the no.1 smart tv OS on LG and other manufactures. They have the platform already to really establish the concept of "smart tv" and combine with the Apps store, this is a no brainer for me

If I can find one in my local best buy I'll get it and give my current tv to my brother!
