Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S II, Epic 4G Touch ICS Just Around the Corner?

There’s a lot of buzz in the Epic 4G Touch forums on XDA in regards to the looming release of an over-the-air ICS update.  ICS leaks from Sprint have been around since February, and Sprint’s RDF page is now showing the 35th version of their update, FE26.  Yesterday afternoon, XDA Senior Member sextape posted a link to return your ET4G back to the stock OTA EL29, the current Gingerbread rom that will be needed to be able to recieve the ICS update OTA.  A sign of things to come?  Then today, after the RDF for FE26 was posted, another Senior XDA  Memeber, thirdcoastraised posted this,

“From what I just heard about 15 minutes ago, there is actually 3 other builds, however, I was also told I should REALLY REALLY check this one out, so yes, it could potentially be the OTA with emmc fix.”

So, I’m not trying to get anyone’s hopes up too high, but there are people who are in the know that are preparing the SGS2 ET4G community for a change.  Still no official dates to be reported, but the OTA may be around the corner.  And if its not, rumor has it, this FE26 build should be pretty close to complete.  It should be easily good enough for a daily driver.  If you want to play around with it, you can find all the information on how to install the leaked builds here.  Be sure to back up everything before you install a leaked build, because when/if you want to get the OTA, you’ll need to go back to the EL29 Gingerbread rom, which will erase all your data.

So, do you have that feelin’ in your bones that ICS is right around the corner for your E4GT?  Already using a leaked build?  Happy enough with Gingerbread?  Let us know what you think.
