Verizon DROID Incredible 4G LTE Is Denied The “One” Label

HTC’s Jeff Gordon recently said that “Verizon is not going to be carrying either of the HTC One devices currently announced.” This also means that the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE some people were hoping would be the Verizon One isn’t a One series phone at all.

The Incredible 4G LTE actually uses a different Qualcomm chip from the One X. It isn’t the same chip but underclocked. It’s also missing the ImageChip present in the One series, though it has a very similar camera sensor. Hopefully this won’t affect the quality of the photos too much.

Is Verizon to blame? Did they choose to sell a phone that’s different from the One Series? It’s definitely a disappointment, considering the HTC One S is a superior phone to the Incredible 4G LTE, from the screen to the materials used. The Incredible is all plastic. Verizon users, are you disappointed you aren’t getting an HTC One X, in all its ceramic glory? Tell us in the comments!

I've been looking forward to the Droid Incredible 4G LTE to replace my first-gen Incredible for months, and now that I know the details, I am very disappointed.  Verizon will be selling an inferior phone.

VZW has best network over all. THIS should be the #1 feature of ANY phone. Footprint combined with network speed is best on VZW. I work at a nurse on a Life Flight helicopter where communication is essential. I can tell you from experience, I get signal in places NO else does with other providers (also ask anyone who hunts or fishes). Yes they make profits and they keep rolling out their network. They control their stable of phones tightly for profits, support and network quality. Their customer service is always top rated by Consumer Reports. There may be cheaper plans and better phone selection on other carriers and this may work well for some people. I can see this being sufficient for someone who lives, travels and works all within a contiguous network foot print that consistently gets great data speeds. But stray outside of the lines a bit, your chances for dropping a call, loosing signal and downloads slowing to a crawl increase greatly. VZW may not be a fit for everyone but do not knock it. There are other options out there if you want the latest, hottest devices or freedom to jump between carriers. For me, and most people, the most important benefits when looking at a smart phone are network connection, customer service, device variety and price, usually in that order.

I won't care if the price is right.    I'd happily buy a Droid Incredible But It's Not a One 4G LTE phone for $99!

Verizon dont care for phones with low amps non removeable batt. due to sluggish sell of original razor before the razor maxx, they learned from that mistake.

Very. Verizon has been consistently letting me down over the past year. If they don't get the Galaxy SIII I'm walking!

They don't offer one single phone that I would buy! I am ready for a new phone, but may be looking at AT&T for a new phone. The Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy note or even the One X. Why doesn't Verizen offering any quality phones?

Opening up the flood gates for the Galaxy S3.

WilliamAlmes They've never cared. They only want money.
