Last holiday season Amazon saw huge success with the launch of the Kindle Fire, offering a decent Android tablet at an incredibly attractive price. The tablet led in holiday sales, and they’re now a common thing to see people using. Now Reuters is reporting that Amazon is building a 8.9-inch Kindle Fire, set for launch sometime later this year. Considering how many people went for the original Fire, it makes sense to expand the series to accomodate more potential customers.
This move is not surprising, nor is this the first time we’ve heard rumors of a new Kindle Fire. There’s no doubt that Amazon will be releasing a new Kindle Fire this year, but the question now is when. If Amazon decides to begin a yearly cycle, then it would be sometime this fall when a new Kindle is released. We’ll have to wait it out to see Amazon’s next move, but in the meantime, who wants a 8.9-inch Kindle Fire?
