British retailer, Carphone Warehouse, has updated their “Coming Soon” page on their website to include two new Android phones. The first of them is the Samsung Galaxy Beam which Samsung introduced alongside of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2. The most notable feature of the Galaxy Beam is the pico projector that Samsung managed to stuff inside of it. Other specs of the phone include a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4″ WVGA display, and five-megapixel camera. Pricing for the Galaxy Beam is expected to start at around £350.
The other phone that is coming soon is the Sony Xperia Go. This also has a notable feature of having an IP67 water resistance rating along with being dust resistant. It shares a couple of specs with the Galaxy Beam by also having a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera. Where it differs is in the screen size where the Xperia Go has only a 3.5″ display. Both phones run Gingerbread although Sony has promised an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich later in the year.
Overall, it sounds like a pair of nice mid-range phones that’ll be hitting the UK soon. Especially with their unique little features like a projector or water resistance. Any of our readers in the UK excited for these handsets?
