Galaxy S III To Have Two-Phase Launch On T-Mobile, Prices Also Exposed (Updated)

We’ve just got word from our pals over at TmoNews that T-Mobile has decided to break up the Galaxy S III launch into two phases. Due to a lack of phones and huge consumer demand, the Magenta Network will launch the Galaxy S III in 29 initial markets on June 21 and have a select number of them available online. The rest of their locations will receive the Galaxy S III on June 27 and they’ll have more in stock on their website then too.

Availability isn’t the only thing that was touched on today as T-Mobile also showed their hand on pricing for the Galaxy S III. The latest member of the Galaxy family will set you back $279.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a classic plan and only $229.99 on a value plan with a $20 EIP. Both of those options require a two-year contract but if you’d rather go contract-free then you’ll have to cough up $629.99 for that route. Overall it seems like T-Mobile may be pricing these a bit higher than other carriers and they’re definitely trying to get customers to opt into one of their value plans with the lower pricing. Still, it’s not a bad deal for customers looking to get a great superphone on T-Mobile. Are you going to pick up a Galaxy S III once it launches in your area? Be sure to let us know in the comments!

Samsung Galaxy S III Launch Update

To ensure customers receive the best possible experience, the Samsung Galaxy S III launch will now be broken into two phases. T-Mobile will still be the first carrier to offer the device in-store but the rollout will be in two phases instead of one.

Select Retail and Branded locations in the top 29 markets will launch as scheduled on June 21. In addition, a limited amount of Samsung Galaxy S III devices will be available on T-Mobile.com.

Due to the excitement surrounding the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III, customer demand will exceed the expected launch quantity available on June 21 T-Mobile anticipates the remaining Retail and Branded locations will launch on June 27. Stores that do not receive the initial distribution, and stores who sell out of their initial stock, should use the GSIII Call Back List and contact customers when the devices are available.

Pricing will be as follows:

$629.99 Full Retail, $229.99 down on Value Plans with $20 EIP, $279.99 Classic plan after $50 mail-in rebate (2 year contract required)
