HTC Weighing Options For Android 4.1 Device Updates

Today, HTC released a statement regarding the deployment of Android 4.1 on HTC devices.  The Taiwanese-based company released the following statement:

We are excited about Android Jelly Bean and are planning to support it across a variety of our devices.  We are reviewing the software to determine our upgrade plans and schedule, so please stay tuned for more updates on specific device upgrade plans.

Hopefully we will get an official list of devices that will receive the Jelly Bean software upgrade.  It’s likely that the One series will see the update, but beyond that, I’m not sure what devices will be announced.

What are your guesses on what devices will receive the new Android 4.1 update?  Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below.

I hope Virgin Mobile and Sprint update the HTC Evo 3D/ V 4G because I'm sure than can handle Jellybean. I might have to root if HTC and Virgin say no to an update

I think that any device that has gotten, or would get, ICS should get JB. And those devices that haven't gotten ICS yet, should skip ICS and go straight to JB.

I change my though to:

I think that any device with at least 1GB RAM that has gotten, or would get, ICS should get JB. And those devices that have at least 1GB RAM, which haven't gotten ICS yet, should skip ICS and go straight to JB.

But wait...before they can allow Jelly Bean on their devices, they have to make a new "custom skin" for it that bogs down the processor and ruins the Android experience. Seriously, Key Lime Pie (or whatever Android's next update is) should come with a series of guidelines that deny custom skins like Sense. Of course that'll never happen, but it would definitely be nice so we don't have to buy HTC's amazing hardware just to flash a stock ROM.
