Tonight, CEO Steve Balmer unveiled Microsoft’s latest project: the Surface tablet. This new product is the company’s first try at hardware and weighs less than 2lbs. It also “features a 10.6-inch display, a full version of the Windows 8 operating system, Gorilla Glass, a built in kickstand and a tactile multi-touch keyboard”. Balmer went on to explain that the Surface is meant to add novelty to Windows 8; a new generation of technology from the brand. Currently, two version are set to be released: the Surface Pro and the Surface RT with 32GB or 64GB models to choose from. As for price point, no exact numbers yet but it’s promised to be competitive with the ARM tablet or Intel Ultrabook-class PC. Scroll down to see a video of the new Microsoft’s newest product.
