Midnight Poll: Do You Purchase Music From Google Play?

The Google Play Store is filled with all sorts of downloadable content. The idea that Apps, Games, Music, Books and Movies can all be consumed from a single place is revolutionary in its own right. However, Google has recently made a tremendous push to become a big-time player in the music space. Although, with third-party options like Amazon, Spotify, Rdio, iTunes and Zune all fighting for your wallet, it can be exhausting trying to find the right choice.

So, does Google Play Music satisfy your needs, or do you find yourself straying towards other alternatives? If so, which method do you prefer? We’d love to hear what you’ve got to say in the comments below.

Depends on the deal. I pay for a Spotify premium membership. But if it's an artist I'm a fan of, I will purchase their album without hesitation. Just depends on who is offering it, and if there's any specialty pricing involved. Amazon mainly offers the best deal. Buy, download backup copy, auto-upload copy to Google. Pretty great.

I have purchased music from the Play store, and I plan to buy more. I dig the service and being able to stream from the cloud to all my devices. Being able to download what I've purchased is nice too, in case I'm ever without internet service.

If I still actually bought music I would but I now stream almost everything. I pay for Spotify premium and I use Rdio and MOG to get some free listens every month. Can't remember the last time I actually bought an individual album/song (digital or in physical format).

Google needs to introduce their own streaming service. Since I'm so Google-centric I'd love to just add "Google-Stream" to my list of Google services I use, would integrate well with my other services and just simplify everything (i.e. having Google-Stream music controls popup from my Gmail or Chrome Browser.

I still buy CD's, I like actually supporting artists, and not giving most of my money to server up-time, content hosting, file conversion, DRM licencing... I like going to concerts, giving the artist (directly mind you) $10 and having an autographed CD and appreciation from the band. Much more rewarding that way.

I've bought a lot of music from the Play store. I like buying my music there rather than from the iTunes store because it comes in mp3 format rather than mp4 like from iTunes. I do have a premium subscription to Spotify though so I use that more than I use anything else. I have Spotify on my iPod Touch, my Android phone, my Kindle Fire and my iPad. Music that I want to have and make cd's with and things like that, I buy from the Play store.

My wife bought some. I downloaded it through music manager. Unless I am logged in as her on the pc, I can't get it to play at all.

I strictly use Amazon since I can easily download to different types of mp3s, stream, upload to Amazon Cloud, use across multiple devices, and buy music easily and usually cheaper at times. It has all the music functionality of iTunes. I've got 6k songs on it so I don't plan on switching anytime soon if ever.

No. If I were to purchase music, I'd go about it in the same way that I purchase most everything else, I'd look for a bargain. 1. Google Music isn't exactly convenient as they have a 2 download cap on music in Google Music after that, you can only stream it. 2. I dislike being a "slave to the cloud". 3. I could get it cheaper elsewhere...

I would love to buy music from google play..if i had a income of any kind.

@RaduTanasescu the whole article is a poll. You give your opinion in the comments dude..Not that hard to understand bro

I prefer to buy my music from Google when it makes sense, but sometimes their prices are just not as reasonable as other services.  When Amazon has a good sale, I still buy from them... but if the prices are even close to the same, I will definitely purchase from Google first.

I use an iPad as my secondary device, so I'm sort of forced to use iTunes. iSyncr really helps getting all of my itunes content onto my phone, though.
