NEC has announced it is releasing two new tablets dubbed the LifeTouch L. Each model carries an OMAP4460 1.5GHz processor, 10.1 IPS 1280×800 resolution display, weighs in at 540g and has a 7.99mm profile. Additionally, both models will have a battery capable of 13 hours of web use or 10 hours watching videos. Integrated WiFi will also be present in the LifeTouch L tablets.
The differentiating factor between the two tablets focuses on their target audience. One version is designed for inviduals and will release with 16GB and 32GB, while the other version is designed for business users, but will only be available in a 16GB model. NEC is including an additional security software suite on the model designed for business users to help prevent loss or theft. The models released for individuals will be designed with a very user-friendly interface as well as parental software to help protect kids online.
The 16GB and 32GB versions aimed at individuals are scheduled to release on July 5th but no specific price has been announced.
