NVIDIA And Nyko Partner Up to Create Game Controllers for Android Tablets

Companies Nyko and NVIDIA have teamed up to create controllers eyed for Android tablets, specifically Tegra 3 optimized tablets. The controllers will be dubbed the Playpad and the Playpad Pro. To no surprise, these controllers will be optimized for the Tegra 3 chipset on Android tablets and will require Android 3.0 and up to run as well as Bluetooth capabilities.

The Playpad will be the smaller of the two, while the Playpad Pro will be the ‘power user’ of the two which will feature more buttons and is more of a full sized controller. These will work out of the box and wont require and rooting or hacking, although if you do not own a Tegra 3 device it seems as if Nyko will have a Playpad app on the Play Store to enable the usage of their product. Thus, a Tegra 3 device won’t be required. I for one am intrigued by this and I hope it does well! What do you guys think?
