Samsung has unveiled a new Android-based flip phone exclusively for the Chinese market. The GT-B9120 is a retro styled smartphone that features not one, but two 3.5-inch Super AMOLED 480×800 touchscreen displays, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. You’ll also get 16GB of on board storage as well as Bluetooth, Wi-FI and GPS. Around back you’ll find Samsung’s tried and true 5-megapixel shooter while a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera will take care of your video chatting needs.
When the phone is shut, it works the same way as any touch-only phone, though when you want to head 5 years back in time you can open it up and expose the old school 12-digit number pad. Unfortunately, the device is set to launch with an outdated build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Samsung gave no word on whether it would be updated to ICS or not. So, do you think there’s a market for a revamped clamshell flip phone?
