Samsung has confirmed that all Canadian versions of the Galaxy S III will be eligible for the 50GB Dropbox promotion giving users an extra 48GB (plus the standard 2GB) of storage for two years. The company gave the following statement.
“New GS III users will receive a basic 2GB of free space with Dropbox (It is permanent). When they create their own Dropbox account or link their existing account to Samsung Apps, the user will receive 48GB more space through a promotional offer, for a total of 50GB. This is available for 2yrs.”
It isn’t clear what happens to your stored data after your initial 2 years are up, though Dropbox is sure to announce all of the official regulation mumbo jumbo at some point in the future. Last week, both Verizon and AT&T announced that they would be opting out of the Dropbox storage promotion, but gave no reasoning behind the move.
