Today marks the launch of AT&T’s newest Android handset, the Samsung Exhilarate. The carrier’s new affordable device features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and LTE connectivity. The device also sports a 5-megapixel rear shooter as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. AT&T ‘s newest smartphone is being touted as “eco-friendly” with 80% of the device being composed of recycled post-consumer materials. Unfortunately, this Galaxy S II variant is currently stuck on Gingerbread and there’s no telling when or even if it will get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich. However, at just $49.99 on contract the Exhilarate makes for a well-equipped budget phone. If it’s an inexpensive smartphone with LTE you’re looking for, just be sure not to count out the HTC Vivid or LG Nitro which are both available for the same price on the carrier’s website.
