Samsung Galaxy Nexus Trickster MOD Brings Plethora of Kernel Tweaks

A medley of scripts and binary mods have been combined and put together in one neat package for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  XDA Senior Member bigeyes0x0 has developed what he’s dubbed the Trickster MOD and should work for virtually any ROM you’re running on your Galaxy Nexus.  In the thread, he states the mod theoretically might have limited functionality on other phones too.  Here are a list of things the mod can set/do as stated by bigeyes0x0:

- Zipalign and sqlite DB optimization at boot
- Some android properties tweaks with mobile network speed tweak
- Screen state optimization for kernel task scheduler and virtual management (ch33kybutt)
- Set I/O scheduler, read ahead buffer, CPU scaling governor, min and max CPU speed
Following features are dependent on kernel features:
- Color (applied by default), contrast and gamma tweaks
- Generic hotplug
- CPU Temp limit
- Minimal SmartReflex voltage of Core, IVA, and MPU domains
- Nominal SmartReflex voltage for Core, IVA, and MPU domains
- Regulator voltages
- GLaDOS live OC of Core, GPU and MPU
- WIFI mode for screen off (power saving or full speed)
- Vibrator strength
- Headset volume boost
- High performance sound
- Force fast charge
- Battery live extender
- Touch wake and touch wake duration
- fsync control

In regards with how to use the mod once it’s been flashed if you’re not familiar, bigeyes0x0 writes “[By] default, Trickster MOD already applies some default optimizations. This is implied in first post if you read it carefully.
You can check logcat|grep Trickster from adb or terminal to see what have been applied. If you want to change more stuffs, hit up /sdcard/trickster/trickster.conf in any utility you like.”  Within the utility (like Root Explorer) you can change or turn on/off the settings.  Instructions for flashing are included in the XDA thread.  Many users are reporting increased speeds, fixed color problems, and improved battery life with the Trickster mod.  Those things sound pretty rad to me.  So if you have a Galaxy Nexus, definitely give this mod a look see.  Let us know if you’re using it or what you think…
