You read that right. We’ve just received the press release, and the Galaxy S III has officially been announced for 5 carriers in the US. Those carriers are the big four – AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, along with regional carrier US Cellular. The Snapdragon S4 processor will be in tow, in addition to the 2GB of RAM. Availability is not yet known, but each carrier will come out with their release dates and prices in coming weeks. That’s right folks, the wait will be over soon for us in the US.
It’s good to see that the carriers have been quick this time around, whereas with the S II it took months before it was available in the US. Some may also be disappointed by the lack of a quad-core processor, but it will be traded out for either 4G LTE or 42Mbps HSPA+ radios. Another thing of note is that the phone looks identical to the international variant; US Galaxy variants are usually modified. It’s only a matter of time before the phone launches, and we’ll be covering the whole thing.
