Keeping with tradition, Google has a fun new easter egg embedded in their newly announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The only devices currently running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean are the Galaxy Nexus (if you’ve gotten the update) and the Nexus 7 tablet if you were at Google I/O today. The rest of us just have to wait patiently for an update or go buy a new device I suppose. You can find the easter egg the same way you’ve been able to find it on “older” Android versions. First, go to settings, go all the way down settings and select ‘about phone,’ and hit the android version several times, pretty fast. With Jelly Bean, this new easter egg first pops up with an adorable red jelly bean, complete with a smiley face and antennae. Beneath the smiling jelly bean it will read “Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.” The background will have whatever background you’re currently running on the device. If you long press the jelly bean, the smiling red jelly bean disappears and you get a screen full of colorful, floating jelly beans. Enjoyably, you can flick these tiny jelly beans off the screen. So, a pretty fun easter egg compared to previous ones… Slightly more interactive. Go give it a look see if you’re lucky enough to have your hands on a device running Jelly Bean or check out an older easter egg on your current android version if you haven’t already… Good times with Google.
