Sony Rolling Out Xperia S 4.0.4 Update

Sony has announced that it’s 4.0.4 software update, originally slated for April, will soon begin to start rolling out to all Xperia S users.  This update will provide users a more integrated and enjoyable media experience with the inclusion of several new applications in the update.

The Walkman application uses Sony’s proprietary audio technology alongside social features that allow you to pick up on what your friends enjoy and the option to share your favorite tracks and artists.  The new Album application provides additional options for sorting and browsing images.  Facebook integration is also present and users can easily view and comment on theirs friends’ photos.  The Movie application refines the viewing experience and using an intelligent database, the application will also pull in movie posters and other information related to the movie being watched.

The Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 update also includes a number of additional updates that will further your enjoyment of the Xperia S.  Sony in improving the existing lock screen by adding additional features such as unlocking the phone using your face and opening the camera directly from the lock screen.  Improved data consumption tools, resizable widgets, and a recent apps button are also included in this update.  The update will begin to roll out over the next several weeks and weigh in around 200MB, so I would advise downloading via WiFi once it becomes available in your area.
