While realistic golf games don’t excite me, I know many people like them. Well EA released their PGA Touch 12 on Android for a measly $5. It’s all the golf action you know and love. And if you’re not an avid golf fan, it also includes 20 mini games to test your skills. Should be a fun little distraction.
There are many locations, including Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, TPC Sawgrass, Hazeltine, Doral, TPC Boston, and Greenbrier. There are also 8 characters you can play as, including Tiger Woods, Anthony Kim, Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Paul Casey, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, and Camilo Villegas. You can also make your own character. Not bad for a mobile game.
There is something worrying about it though. There is a note at the bottom warning that it might not work on rooted devices. If you read the comments, some people with rooted devices install it fine. However, most people with 720p displays can’t play it. There are reports from GNex, LTEVO, and One X users just not being able to play the game because it gives them an error about resolution. They can’t get a refund either, because the game takes forever to download all the extra content. So beware.
