XDA Developers is Changing Their Look

This isn’t device news, but if you own a Android device, this should be somewhat exciting news for you.  The extremely popular XDA Developers forums is testing a new beta layout for their forums.  If you’re not familiar with the XDA forums, I highly suggest you start snooping around there if you’re planning on doing any type of modification for your device software.  The forum is an awesome resource for anything mobile, but I especially use the site to keep up on new ROMs. mods, apps, tweaks, and even the latest news or ICS ROM leaks for devices.  In fact, as you can see by the above image, I’ve been using it to get the files to flash the new Phantom’s Blazer ROM to my Epic 4G Touch (I’ll let you know how it goes and what I think of it later on Twitter).  There are a lot of great developers and people on forums that are super willing to help you have a great time with your device as long as you’re willing to take the time to read and try your best to understand the info already made available to you.  So, recently XDA has made a new beta layout for the forums and its ready for you to test it out!  If you want to change it, there’s a drop down menu on the bottom left of most pages on XDA.  Although it’s not labeled well, the drop down menu is the Quick Style Changer and there you’ll find ‘XDA 2013 Beta.’  Click on that and you’ll be able to test out the new layout.  XDA states that “our newest forum template features a modern and clean design, a much improved forum index (instead an endless list of forums), a new sidebar with easy access to private messages and subscribed threads and forums, and much more.”  They say their still going to be making tweaks to the layout, so this isn’t finalized.  Also, you have the opportunity as with most Betas to help make it better by reporting bugs by hitting the link at the top of the page.  So, this isn’t device news, but it is news that may be important to your device now and/or in the future.  I think the new layout looks nice and I’m excited to get to know the new functionalities.  Go check it out for yourself and let us know what you think…
