All the way back in January, Sony announced its new US flagship, the Xperia ion for AT&T. Since then we have yet to hear anything on it up until today, and the phone has lost all of its hype to competitors like HTC and Samsung. However, the handset is still coming to AT&T, and in the near future. It was just announced that it would be launching on June 24th, for the attractive price of $99.99 on two-year contract.
It looks like the phone will be positioned as a mid-range phone on AT&T’s network, and will have to compete with phones like the Nokia Lumia 900 and Apple iPhone 4. It has the advantage of better specs, like a 4.6-inch 720p HD display, 12MP camera, 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE. Not a bad price for a powerful package, so sales should be better than average. Anyone planning on picking one of these up on the 24th?
