Amazon has become a competitor in the mobile market, competing even against Google, themselves. Despite, using Android as their go-to OS, they have customized it beyond recognition, as well as created their own app store. This, however, is not necessarily a bad thing. Competition is good and services such as this can emerge. Gamecircle is Amazon’s new cloud gaming service for mobile. Players can get achievements, get posted on leaderboards and spread their games across devices.
Unfortunately, for now this is only available through Amazon devices, such as the Kindle Fire. It sounds like a great idea for customers to get more from their games and to keep them from losing their status when switching devices, which we have all experienced before moving to a new device. If you’re a developer it might be worth your time to take a look. If you’re a gamer, just wait and see what happens. Temple Run creators, Imangi Studios and more have already boarded ship, it’s only a matter of time before even more do.
