California Legalizes Voice-Activated, Hands-Free Texting While Driving
Governor Jerry Brown has signed the “Freedom to Communicate Bill” which will allow drivers to use voice-activated, hands-free texting while driving. This bill modifies the already effective ban of texting while driving in the Golden State. While some sources are saying voice recognition software like Siri will be allowed, others are speculating that they are banned because you must touch the phone to activate it. The legislation goes into effect January 1st.

About time, I use Siri with my headset, and it works great. If only Google Now would work as well as I hoped then I wouldn't have to use Siri. It's nice to know California is up on the times though.
