Samsung took a pretty big blow when Apple was granted a temporary injunction on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. When Samsung first asked for stays on the injunctions of the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Judge Lucy Koh rejected them. Samsung then decided that they wouldn’t take this lying down and filed appeals to the Federal Court. The Federal Circuit denied a stay on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 injunction but did allow one for the Galaxy Nexus. It will stay in effect until Apple issues an official response which is due by July 12 at 5:00 p.m. and the court will then decide whether the injunction should stay in effect or not.
While Samsung may not have been granted a stay on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 injunction, it’s good to see that they received one for the Galaxy Nexus. Although it seems that Google has already whipped up a fix for the problem and will begin selling the device again next week. These patent issues are getting a bit out of hand now and it should be fun to watch what Apple has to say about this. Keep your eyes glued to the site for more info on this case!
