Having made a brief appearance last week on Motorola’s website, the handset is now officially announced for AT&T. Unlike its predecessors, the Atrix and Atrix 2, the Atrix HD is heading to AT&T shelves complete with LTE connectivity.
The Atrix HD includes a 4.5″ 720p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag and 1080p video recording. Pack all of that into a body measuring just 8.4mm thick with Kevlar fiber mixed with splash guard coating and you’ve got yourself the Atrix HD.
The Atrix HD will come out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich, with what we hope continues their recent work to limit the amount of “skin” placed on the handset. Motorola has also included its Smart Actions app that automatically changes the devices setting to help conserve battery life. The Atrix HD also features Motorola’s Circle Widget on the homescreen, presenting users with information like weather, date, notifications, battery life, data usage, settings and more all at a quick glance.
Motorola’s not giving an official street date, but they have said the Atrix HD will come $99.99 when it hits AT&T’s shelves. That’s a pretty great price for a phone with 4G LTE connectivity and a 4.5″ 720p display. I’ll be interested in getting my hands on this one.
