The team behind OUYA, the Android gaming console, made waves a couple of weeks ago when they announced the Kickstarter page for their project. Now they’ve got their first exclusive game commitment under their belt from new gaming company, Robotoki. Robotoki was founded by Robert Bowling who previously worked with Activision and Infinity Ward and is one of the men responsible for the major success of the Call of Duty series. He tweeted that his company is fully in support of OUYA and what they’re doing and that they’ll be creating an exclusive game for the console called Human Element which takes place in a post-apocalyptic earth filled with zombies and you just have to survive. Hmm, sounds a bit like Left 4 Dead, no? OUYA sent out an email to all Kickstarter backers that read:
We’d like to introduce you to Robert Bowling, president of the game developer Robotoki, and an early backer of our Kickstarter. You might recognize Robert from his work with the Call of Duty franchise.
Earlier today, from his Twitter account (@fourzerotwo), Robert hinted that he had some news.
Well here it is: OUYA gamers will get FIRST access to the ravaged world of his post-zombie-apocalyptic game, Human Element.
Robotoki is the first studio to commit to building a game exclusively for OUYA: an episodic prequel that will set the stage for his eventual release ofHuman Element in 2015.
Welcome to OUYA, Robert!
This news combined with the $99 price tag make me want the OUYA console even more now. Especially if this game turns out anything at all like Call of Duty or Left 4 Dead. What about you? Does this news fill you with excitement also?
