Say hello to the Pantech Star Q 4G LTE destined for Verizon, also known as the successor to the Pantech Breakout. Thanks to an anonymous tipster, the boys at Androidandme are looking at the upcoming Pantech device, said to be launching with a low price point of $99 on contract.
So what does your $99 buy you on Verizon’s LTE network? How about Android 4.0.4, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4″ WVGA display, 3 megapixel rear camera, front-facing camera, 5-row QWERTY keyboard, and Bluetooth 4.0. Is anyone else seriously disappointed by the promise of Android 4.0.4 and a Snapdragon S4 processor only to be disappointed with a 3 megapixel camera, that’s weak sauce.
According to Androidandme, the Pantech Star Q has already made some cameo appearances on NenaMark benchmark tests along with some sample images showing up on Picassa. It’s unfortunate, but we doubt the Pantech Star Q will win over any dedicated QWERTY fans, especially with the DROID 4 still alive and well. However, with a small price, 4G LTE and a Snapdragon processor, this just might surprise us and win a few of you over.
