It seems the honey badger and Samsung have something in common. They don’t care. Despite Samsung removing the local search feature on all Galaxy S IIIs, both U.S. and international, it has already restored the feature on the world version. The feature was removed due to one of Apple’s patent lawsuits stating that it infringed on Apple’s “Siri” patent. No word on why the feature is already back, but I’m sure not many will be complaining.
This doesn’t apply to any of the United States versions, which could be due to the search patent lawsuits being stateside. However, stranger things have happened. Maybe we’ll see the feature returned to all models soon.
Have you missed local search on your phone? Are you glad to have it back?
