Sony Introduces New Walkman® Devices, Including Thinnest Walkman® To Date
Sony is introducing a couple new devices to their Walkman® music player line, including the thinnest Walkman® to date. The F800 and E470 series will launch next month and include the Sony cloud-based Music Unlimited service. Music Unlimited is a monthly subscription service that entitles members access to 14 million songs and the ability to transfer their favorite songs to their Walkman® for offline listening. Users can easily drag and drop files to their device using iTunes® for Windows® via Media Go software or Windows® Media Player. Sony is also including SenseMe technology which catalogs music into different channels. You can find the specifications for the new devices below:
Walkman® F800 Series
- 3.5″ touch screen

- S-Master Digital Amplifier which cuts distortion, providing better clarity when listening.
- W. button to allow easy access to music controls.
- Included applications such as email, gallery and maps.

Walkman® E470 Series
- 2.0 LCD screen
- 7mm thin
- Karaoke mode
- Two pre-installed games
The 4GB E470 will retail for $79.99, the 8GB for $99.99, and the 16GB for $109.99. Pricing for the F800 line is higher as they will release at $269.99 for the 16GB version and $299.99 for the 32GB model. These new models are scheduled for an August release and will be available in retail stores as well as online at www.sony.com/walkman.
