Sprint Galaxy Nexus Update Removes Local Search
Sprint announced a new update rolling out for the Galaxy Nexus last night and unlike the other features contained in the update, they conveniently “forgot” to mention that this update removed the local search feature from the device. This means that you’ll no longer be able to search things both on the web and on your device from the Google Search bar. This is primarily due to the lawsuits that Apple has ferociously been throwing around concerning this feature. While it’s understandable that this is a patent and this one at least isn’t too vague, we do wish that manufacturers and carriers such as Samsung, Google, and Sprint would tell us before doing these things. It’s been happening with the Galaxy S III in the same manner and people would probably like to know this stuff before they click the download button. What do you guys think of this latest news?

If Spring hasn't announced it. And no one has gotten it (I haven't seen anyone on any forums saying they got this update). How do we know it's been removed? Or am I missing something?
