The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is a mid range phone on T-Mobile, and it’s a good phone. But no one expected any updates for it, considering how it was not high end. However, Samsung and T-Mobile are graciously updating the phone to Ice Cream Sandwich. However, that day is not today.
Today, it’s getting an update to Gingerbread 2.3.6. This is not a big update, but it’s appreciated anyway. Go check for an OTA update to get it now. Or, starting July 17th, you can download it through your PC via Kies software. OTA is obviously preferable.
Before anyone complains that the Blaze is getting ICS and not Jelly Bean, what did you expect? Manufacturers can’t build Jelly Bean so quickly after release, just like it took them a long time (too long) to get ICS updates out. Plus, a mid range phone getting ICS is great news. SO NO COMPLAINING.
