The Original Final Fantasy Quests Its Way Onto The Play Store

Back in 1987, Square Enix unveiled the game that would spawn an enormous line of sequels and new iterations, Final Fantasy. Now if you’re feeling like a flashback to that simpler time would be nice, then head over to the Google Play Store on your Android device and pick up the original Final Fantasy. Complete with new graphics, the entire game is there for a slightly pricey $6.99. Though if you compare that price to Final Fantasy III for Android which comes in at a steep $15.99, it’s a small price to pay to relive your childhood. What are you waiting for? It’s time to begin the quest!

IIIIRC, it's the GBA version, so it's really only about a decade old. I can see $3-$5 for that, but $7 is a bit high. Likewise, I'd pay up to $10 for FFIII, what with it being a port of a DS game.

Why SE thinks they can outprice everyone else for a port that took them a week to make, I have no idea. It's free money, sure, but it'd be a lot more free money if they followed standard pricing trends instead of thinking their name means something even in the mobile market. I'm not surprised they're bleeding money if their executives are this blind.

They really need to learn that pricing an over two decade old game at above 99 cents is just ridiculous. Heck, at least put a two dollar price on it.

Especially since you can just side load an NES Emulator apk and play it for the low low price of free...

Not that I endorse that sort of thing.. I'm just saying... :-)
