Verizon Drops Galaxy Nexus To $99.99 On Contract

$99 for a Galaxy Nexus is a great price. The phone may be a little outdated, but it is still a fantastic phone. However, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus isn’t exactly a true Nexus device. It does not receive its updates straight from Google, so while other Galaxy Nexuses have Jelly Bean, this one is stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich. And it may be months until it gets the next update. So is it not worth buying, even for $99? Well it is, considering it’ll probably get updates faster than any other Verizon phone anyway. Plus, no matter what, app support for it will not falter. So yes, this is a great deal. If you have to stay on Verizon and are on a budget, I suggest this phone to be your next.

If you're into the whole rooting and ROM scene, you can't go wrong with the Galaxy Nexus; even if it is the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

Unlockable boot loader and more ROM and kernel developers than any other phone I've ever seen!

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus and I'm running the LiquidSmooth ROM with iMoseyOn's leanKernel.  This phone is just blazing fast even with ICS.  Team Liquid has promised that they will have a Jelly Bean version of LiquidSmooth within the next two months.  Unfortunately they've had to go back to the drawing board with all of their code since JB has so many internal changes.
