The Beta version of VideoLAN’s popular media player is now available in the Google Play Store except for those of us in the US and Canada. This version is only for devices with a a CPU ARMv7 that will support NEON and is everywhere the hardware will work. According to VideoLAN:
This version is NOT stable and is slower than the final version.
It might kill your kitten, destroy your house and start the mayan apocalypse.
Use it at your own risk. Have Fun! :)
VideoLAN also announced via Twitter that the ARM6 and Tegra 2 versions will be available in a few days.
Hopefully VLC will be released in the United States and Canada by the end of the week. I’m anxious to get this installed on my Android devices.
