The ZTE Grand X, while nowhere near high end status, is definitely a good offering for those on Virgin Mobile’s pay-as-you-go plans. The phone has a 4.3″ qHD screen (which is a pretty good pixel density), a 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 processor (they weren’t even very good when they came out, I own a Tegra 2 device), a 5MP camera, a VGA front facing camera, 512MB RAM, a 1650 mAh battery, and 4GB internal storage with a microSD slot.
These specs are just unimpressive. Its hardware, while nice looking, looks a lot like a Nexus S. Why should you buy it then? The answer is stock Android 4.0. There is no skin, just stock Ice Cream Sandwich. This should make it fairly smooth and speedy, and quite enjoyable to use. This is what makes it a nice phone to consider. It will be £190 in the UK and will be available August. There is no word yet on other regions.
