HTC’s CEO Asks To “Kill Bureaucracy” In Company

HTC’s CEO Peter Chou has sent out an email to his employees asking them to “kill bureaucracy.” This is following HTC doing very poorly in the phone market, with extremely low sales. He writes, “We have people in meeting and talking all the time but without decision, strategic direction or sense of urgency. Bureaucracy crept in without clear ownership. We agreed to do something but we either didn’t do it or executed it loosely.”

This leaked email was confirmed as real by HTC spokesperson Sally Julien. Good thing, too. HTC really needs some rallying call like this. They’ve been struggling, mostly due to a quick growth in popularity and not adjusting to it. They can get back in the game, and that’s shown by a generally well executed product line like the One series.

Chou also said “Please make sure that we kill bureaucracy. Stay firm with the hero innovations and make them even bigger and deliver them.” HTC, please do. No matter what our favorite phone is, we need you.

I have a HTC phone and I was completely happy with it....until they released the updated version of it and called it the "One Series"..........The "Amaze" is the same phone yet no one seems to see it!!!!!  to HTC....."Quietly Brilliant" is going to be "Quietly Gone" if you don't  change your ways.

Amaze is powered by an inferior chip. The Snapdragon S3 was never a good SoC. No offense of course. But the Snapdragon S4 is a BIG upgrade.

HTC really did it big (at least to me) when they made that Nexus One with Google. A pure stock experience with no bloatware and a great solid metal build in most parts of the phone. They need to team up with Google once again and make a premium feeling handset ! Samsung is great and all, but it's time to give another company a shot at a Nexus phone.. preferably a device that's mostly non-plastic all around

brianmac the One X is plastic all around. In my opinion, it doesn't feel too premium (while the Nexus One felt wonderful). HTC needs to step up.

Haloruler64 Use it for more than 4 seconds and you might change your mind.

Sorry buddy, I used one for a full day. I just couldn't love the build quality. It was SOLID, but the feel was just not too premium. The plastic backing didn't feel very HTC. Not after the Nexus One and Desire HD.
