Leaked Images Show Off Nikon’s Android-Powered Coolpix S800c Camera

Are you interested in an Android based camera? Well then you might have been following Nikon’s S800c Coolpix camera. According to Nikon Rumors, they have obtained leaked press shots of the Android-based camera. The pictures reveal a touchscreen menu on the backside, apparently running a Gingerbread version of Android. Visible in the photos, are apps for a camera, email, browser, music, etc. Additional specs labeled on the front of the camera detail a “12X Wide Optical Zoom ED VR” in HD and a 4.5-54.0mm stock lens.

Nikon Rumors, has a decent track record in scooping Nikon news so these images are believed to be legit. Nikon Rumors has said that the official announcement will occur “on or around” August 22. The website first discovered the s800c in a filling with the Indonesian Communication Agency, and it originally noted the camera touts a 3.5-inch OLED screen, Android 2.3 with Google Play apps, and built-in GPS and Wi-Fi.
