MetroPCS Becomes The First Carrier To Offer Voice Over LTE (VoLTE)

MetroPCS may be one of the smaller carriers out there but they’re not at all short of courage. After being the first carrier to launch a 4G LTE network, they’re now the first carrier to offer voice over LTE or VoLTE. That means that customers in an LTE area with a capable device will experience clearer calls than if they were on a 2G or 3G network. The first capable handset is going on sale in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and that’s the LG Connect 4G. It’s currently both the first and the only phone to be able to experience VoLTE but MetroPCS says more devices and a broader rollout are coming soon. If you’re a MetroPCS customer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and you decide to go get a Connect 4G, be sure to let us know how the new VoLTE service is working for you!
