New Leak Suggests Samsung Could Be Prepping A 5.8-inch Galaxy Player

There’s no doubt that Samsung is in the process of getting ready to update its tired line of Galaxy Players, but new evidence suggests the company could be increasing the size dramatically. A recent leak from SamMobile shows a render of an S III -inspired 5.8-inch Galaxy Player with some decent specs. According to the image, the device will sport a 5.8-inch qHD (540 x 960) display, dual-core 1GHz chipset, 1GB of RAM, as well as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, users will get a VGA front-facing camera, Micro SD slot and the usual array of sensors.

If you asked us, we’d tell you this is completely fake. Why? Considering Samsung is a multi-billion dollar Fortune 100 company, we seriously doubt they would spell Ice Cream Sandwich with a “t”. Also, the lack of a Pebble Blue version seems highly unlikely, and without anything official, there’s no way to vouch for the authenticity of the image. As always, take the above information with a gargantuan grain of salt.
