OUYA Team Unveils List Of Games And Partnerships

The OUYA Kickstarter is almost over, and the team has decided to make some announcements. First of all, they shall be partnering with XBMC, an open source media player. It was a highly requested feature, so I’m sure they couldn’t ignore the crowd. An open source media player on an open source home console just makes sense. Let’s hope the negotiations go well.

Second of all, they will be partnering with TuneIn to provide free radio streaming from the OUYA. It will work across 230 territories and countries, unlike offerings like iHeartRadio. TuneIn, from personal use, is a fantastic service, so I’m happy to hear it’ll be on there (though knowing most of us, it’d be rooted within hours anyway, meaning installation of apps will be easy).

They also showed off a small surprise: the size of the OUYA. It is absolutely tiny. Though it shouldn’t have been large in the first place, fitting a Tegra 3 in there is shocking.

Lastly, the list of games that will launch for OUYA has been released. It’s a pretty sizable list:

  • AR-K: A Dark Acid Adventure Comedy
  • Armored Tank Assault 2
  • Aura Tactics
  • Auro
  • Castle Conflict 2
  • Echoes of Eternea
  • Final Fantasy III
  • Gish (and more!)
  • Gravestompers
  • Gunblitz
  • Heroes Call and Ski Safari
  • Ittle Dew
  • Kaiju Combat
  • Kitaru
  • Legends of Aethereus
  • MANOS: The Hands of Fate
  • Megatroid
  • Mutant Mudds
  • Orbital Blaster
  • Quest for Infamy
  • Reincarnation: The Root of All Evil
  • Rival Threads
  • Rush Bros
  • Saturday Morning RPG
  • Spinferno
  • Super Retro Squad
  • Volgarr the Viking
  • Xenonauts

With 32 hours left to go, and $7,261,687 pledged, there is little more that can happen. This product has a big chance to take off, so we’ll just sit back and watch.
