Poll: What’s The Best Screen Size For A Smartphone?

There’s a constant debate over what’s the best screen size for a phone, with devices ranging from 3.0-inch screens all the way past the 5-inch mark. With the both Samsung and HTC’s flagships settling in the 4.7 to 4.8 inch range, and the upcoming Note II rumored to have a 5.5-inch behemoth, we want to know what you think. Do you miss the days of tiny 3.0-inch screens? Are you ready for high-end phones to return to the 4.0-inch mark? Or are the current sizes just right? Let us know!

What about the Nexus - 4.65"? It's left out...

Your question highlights what comments below observed... The reference to particular make/models only serves to skew the results. In your case, you could have either chosen 4.5 or 4.7 seeing as they straddle your device.  I think DD only intended those as samples, but instead it had the unexpected result of skewing votes.

Yep, Gnex screen size is very good.

Interesting results. 4.7 - 4.8 has a clear lead. I would take this to mean that people want the larger screens for video and gaming. However, the 5.0 size is less desirable than the 4.0. So it has to be something that doesn't feel mammoth in your hands and fits relatively well in your pocket. But I wonder if the device references skewed the voting.

BucurBeniamin Agreed. A much more objective survey would have been to give sizes starting with 3" and incrementing every quarter inch up to 5 without any reference to sample device.

kanoneyez In fairness, I would think that results in a poll conducted by DroidDog would be skewed in favor of the larger screen sizes that are now a signature feature of Android.

I still think 4 inches is the ideal screen size for a phone.

But that doesn't mean I don't want a Galaxy S III. :P
