Review: i-BLASON Smart Case for Google Nexus 7

The Google Nexus 7 made by ASUS has been out for several weeks now. I’m sure many of you have already purchased cases for your devices, and if you haven’t, you’ve probably been thinking about ways to keep your beautiful new device safe or to increase its functionality.  I purchased for myself before I received my Nexus 7 the i-BLASON off of Amazon and I want to share with you my experiences with it and did so in a video that can be found below.  Here are some things I failed to mention in the video:

  • Premium leather exterior and PU interior (I believe PU here stands for polyurethane which is a pretty tough polymer.  Will probably be helpful in falls and whatnot)
  • 4 adjustable angles for both Portrait and Landscape view according to i-BLASON.  I suppose one of those positions must be not using one of the 3 slots provided by the case.
  • Magnetic closure.  I like this feature.  Didn’t mention it on the video.  They misspelled magnetic on their Amazon page.

Other than that, I demonstrate all the other features of the the Nexus 7 case with smart cover functionality.  I share all the point that I like and dislike about the case.  My hope is that this is educational towards helping you buy a case in looking for features that you may also like or dislike.  Let us know in the comments below what cases you’re using and what you may like or dislike about them.  Thanks in advance for your comments and for being awesome…

I ordered a Case from Treegloo. Each is custom produced from their availed options. It is still in production, so I haven't had a chance to use it. I like the idea behind their cases and the customized options. In the past I have ordered cases for other devices from Vaja Cases - expensive, but great quality.

i actually have this case. I agree on absolutely all points of this review. The notification pull down interference is probably my biggest complaint. When i purchased this, i didn't realize it was velcro. I expected some kind of plastic rotate mechanism similar to what's used in the belt clips for cell phones, though i expect it would have created even more bulk to this already rather thick case. Personally, i'm willing to sacrifice a bit of protection for a cover rather than a case. The cover I'm looking forward to in particular is this one:

While not a magnetic cover like Apple's own iPad cover, its very similar in styling and our iPad users here at work are very happy with the Apple version.
