Here is PhoneDog’s Aaron Baker with a little hands on time with the new Samsung Galaxy Note II at the IFA event in Berlin. The Note II is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5.5″ HD Super AMOLED display at 1280×720, an 8MP camera with 1080p recording, a massive 3,100 mAh battery, and all running the latest Android Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay.

Does it have a multi coloured alert/status indicator?

If these specs make it to the US, it'll be alright.  I did see that they are planning a Euro release in October with an unspecified US release.  I hope that turns into sooner, rather than later

Now seen the video which says battery is removable. Will definitely getting one!

Let's hope the 64Gb version is one of the first to be released.

The only issue I have with this phone is the low PPI as a result of XDA Resolution on that big of a display... and will the US version be a quad core?
