Looks like Verizon is intent on selling its own charging pad for the Galaxy S III. While the back plate is genuine Samsung, the actual charging pad is not. The charging pad will be sold by Verizon for $50, while the Samsung inductive backplate will be $40. If you want this pair, and don’t mind a non-Samsung charging pad, call Verizon and ask if they have any for sale. It’s just unfortunate that Samsung still hasn’t made their official charging pad ready for sale. It’ll be another month until it is. Would you be willing to buy a Verizon-branded charging pad, or will you wait for the Samsung version? Tell us in the comments!
Does anyone know why #2 is somehow better than #1?
1. I drop the phone in a charging dock... and always keep the dock plugging in. $5. And I can actually see/use the phone on my desk or nightstand.
2. I drop the phone onto a charging pad.... and always keep the pad plugging in. $80-$100. And I can NOT see/use the phone at all because it's laying flat on my desk or nightstand.
This is a "improvement" how?
