Acer Announces Iconia Tab A110, Competes Directly With Nexus 7
Acer officially announced this little tablet, one that looks a lot like the Nexus 7. Not only that, but it’s also similarly specced. It packs a Tegra 3 quad core processor, a 7″ display, and Jelly Bean with the same hybrid layout as the Nexus 7. However, there are a few key differences. First of all, the A110 has a 1024×600 display, clearly inferior to the 1280×800 display in the Nexus 7. On the plus side, it has both microSD and microHDMI, neither of which the Nexus 7 has.
Pricing and release date have not been announced yet. If this tablet was $200, would you consider it? Trading a higher resolution screen for expandable storage and video out? Or would you rather just go for a better display? Tell us in the comments!
I'd certainly be interested in this. I'll tell you, the micro hdmi out on my playbook has been really handy. I just hook it up to my 42 inch tv, go sit on the couch, and then use the bridge remote on my phone to control the playbook - playing movies, surfing the Web, streaming music or videos, or whatever I want.
