Amazon Says They Are Working On An Opt-Out For Kindle Fire Ads

Yesterday we reported that there will be ads in all Kindle Fire models, with no way to opt out. Well Amazon decided to clarify that there will be a way to opt out, though they don’t know how just yet. They haven’t stated a method to do so, but it will be “announced soon.” It’ll probably be a flat fee, and something ridiculous most likely. Seeing as the price difference between the standard and ad-supported versions of the e-ink Kindles was huge, this could be pretty big too. Not the best decision by Amazon, but one not too hard to live with.

So ... Read that as "we hoped to get away with it, but need to do PR damage control ASAP. So if the public wants no ads, we'll charge them up the wazoo for that privilege. Gotta make corporate profits, ya know". No thanks Amazon. I'll wait for a Nexus 10 by Asus.

Bullsh*t! Yes they could do it right now, but why be in any hurry. They want to make every extra penny they can before announcing an "opt-out".

I will stick with my N7, Thank you!
