Amazon Unveils New Kindle Fire At The Shocking Price Of $160

At Amazon’s event today, they’ve announced a successor to the Kindle Fire. The famous Android tablet with no visible trace of Android has gotten a badly needed refresh, making it once again competitive. In fact, I’d go even further and say it’s the best on the market for the price. Why? Because they’ve dropped the price of the Fire to only $160.

For that $160, you get a 7″ display, a “faster processor” with a 40% boost in performance, double the RAM (1GB), and a longer battery life. Let’s hope more specs come out, as for $160, I’m sure we are all very excited. Imagine the possibilities.

This tablet will be released on September 14th, which is so near.

I notice there is no mention of GPS anywhere in the specs meaning that they would be pretty useless for any location based apps or navigation. Any pictures taken would also not contain the location details. Seems rather a shame. Still, I suppose it is only really a "content" player rather than a more general purpose device.
